The timing gear chamber is used to fix and install the timing gear, and integrated with the water pump volute, making full use of the upper space of the gear chamber. It makes the front end structure more compact and reduces the weight of the engine. Maintenance tips
Before installing the gear chamber, thoroughly clean the dirt on the joint surface, and evenly apply anaerobic sealant on the joint surface of the engine body to ensure the sealing effect;
Before assembling the sealing ring, observe whether the sealing ring has scratches and other defects. When assembling, the sealing ring shall be oiled and completely pressed into the sealing groove to avoid the groove scratching the sealing ring.
When installing fuel pump gears and camshaft gears, pay attention to make the gear timing line align with the engraved line on the gear chamber.
Use symmetrical cross tightening sequence, and the tightening torque is (44~58) Nm when tightening the fixing bolts of the gear chamber.
When uninstalling the gear chamber, remove the fastening bolts, then disassemble the intermediate gear shaft and the oil pump intermediate gear shaft, and place the gear chamber in a clean environment.
