The use of the fuel filter is to minimize the pollutants received by fuel pump (including the fuel supply pump and the high pressure fule pump) and the fuel injector. When the diesel passes through the primary filter element, water and some big impurity particles in the diesel are removed.
Maintenance tips
After being used for a period of time, the filter will become dirty or even clogged, and should be replaced regularly.
The fuel system must be ventilated after the filter element is replaced. For spin-on fuel filters (when the fuel system does not have a manual fuel pump), the filter should be filled with the specified fuel and then installed on the filter base to ensure the sealing performance.
