Woodward smart ignition coil uses independent ignition coil for each cylinder. ECU can control the charging timing, charging duration and discharging timing of each coil, and keep the charging current of the engine up to 6.5A in any working condition, reducing ICM and cost. It can provide a reliable ignition demand voltage to ensure the normal operation of the spark plug; the quality of the production and processing process is strictly controlled to ensure the quality of the ignition coil.
Maintenance tips
The outer surface of the ignition coil should be kept clean. The interior should be protected from moisture to maintain its good insulation performance.
The connection between the high voltage extension part of the ignition coil and the high voltage wire should be firm and reliable. If the connection is loose, it is prone to spark over discharge and burn out the connection part.
One end of the secondary winding of the ignition coil is connected to the spark plug via a high-voltage wire and a spark plug cap. During use, the high-voltage wire and spark plug cap should be prevented from loosening.
The connection between the ignition coil and the external circuit should be firm and reliable to prevent leakage and virtual connection.
When disassembling the ignition coil, you must first disconnect the power supply, turn off the main battery switch, and disconnect the negative electrode of the battery in advance; unplug the wiring harness connector connected to the ECU; then, use an air gun or high-pressure air to blow clean the vicinity of the ignition coil; Unplug the high-voltage wire from the ignition coil; ensure that the surface of the ignition coil is dry and clean.
