Weichai Technician College (Weichai Senior Technical School and Weichai Vocational Secondary Professional School), founded in 1960, is a full-time vocational school invested by Weichai Holding Group and approved by Shandong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security and Weifang Municipal Education Bureau. In 1989, the school took the lead in cooperating with the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Germany, and explored the construction of the German "dual system" school model. In 2014, 198 million yuan was invested to start construction of the new campus. In 2016, the School moved to the new campus as a whole, and officially formed an education pattern integrating on-the-job training and vocational education for employees. The School has a number of provincial and municipal famous majors, among which the mechanical processing professional was recognized by the German Ruhr Handicraft Association as the foreman technician training qualification, becoming a successful example and characteristic brand of vocational education and training in China.
The school never forgets the mission of moral education, and new energy vehicles, industrial robots, industrial control, precision manufacturing and assembly, mechatronics, diesel engine assembly and testing, numerical control processing, numerical control maintenance, sheet metal electric welding, marketing, industrial logistics and other 13 majors, formed a professional ability development as the standard teaching concept, work process-oriented teaching content concept, action-oriented view of multiple teaching methods, and project-based "integrated" teaching implementation view. It has also become one of the first national enterprise practice bases for vocational education teachers in China’s machinery industry, the national demonstration base for high-skilled talents, the pilot of the new apprenticeship system in Shandong Province, the public training base of advanced manufacturing industry in Shandong Province for the replacement of old and new driving forces, and the first batch of production-education integration training base in Shandong Province. In 2019, the School was named "Top 50 Chinese Enterprise Colleges".
