Entering a new stage
The "Changhang Cargo 005" has a total length of 129.98 meters, a breadth of 16.2 meters, a depth of 7.2 meters, and a maximum cargo capacity of 10,270 tons. As a demonstration vessel of a key national project, this vessel has made breakthrough progress in Green technology and obtained the "Green Ship-2" classification symbol of China Classification Society, with remarkable environmental protection benefits.
Two 1,000kW Weichai WH20 micro-injection ignited LNG engines provide the vessel with efficient, reliable and environmentally friendly power, achieving a comprehensive upgrade and iteration of the entire machine's performance. They feature high efficiency and reliability, strong power, energy conservation and environmental protection, and are the powerful alternatives to imported products in the Weichai WH series of ship power.
At present, Weichai WH20 micro-injection ignited LNG engines have been installed on multiple 10,000-ton bulk carriers of Changhang Group. After actual ship verification, compared with traditional fuel engines, CO₂ emissions are reduced by about 20% compared with the same type of diesel ships, sulfur oxide and nitrogen oxide emissions are reduced by 100%, and fuel costs can be saved by more than 20%. The actual operation performance has won high recognition from Changhang Group and additional bulk orders have been placed. Several local shipowners also boarded the ships in person to gain a detailed understanding of the usage of the Weichai WH20 micro-injection ignited LNG engine.
As an important practice of the green and high-quality development of the Yangtze River shipping industry, Weichai has joined hands with China Shipping Group to promote the engineering application of key technologies such as green, low-carbon and intelligent navigation for inland waterway vessels, providing an integrated green and intelligent technology solution for inland bulk cargo ship types. This has played a leading and exemplary role in enhancing the environmental performance and safety level of cargo vessels on the Yangtze River.
