Shandong Heavy Industry Group: Riding the Momentum for Comprehensive Leap in Vietnamese Market

On the morning of the 21, Man Shengang first visited Weichai Vietnam to meet frontline employees and chair a special meeting on Shandong Heavy Industry Group's Vietnamese market strategy. He reviewed operations reports from subsidiaries including Weichai Group, Sinotruk, and Shantui.

Man Shengang emphasized that during the central conference on work related to neighboring countries held April 8-9, General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed "building a community with a shared future with neighboring countries." On April 14, during his state visit to Vietnam, General Secretary Xi Jinping called for carrying forward the traditional friendship of "profound Vietnam-China camaraderie as comrades and brothers," while advancing comprehensive strategic cooperation with high quality to ensure the steady and sustained development of the China-Vietnam community with a shared future. Vietnam serves as a strategic and high-potential "nearshore" market for Shandong Heavy Industry Group, playing a pivotal role in the Group's global expansion. In 2024, the Group's export revenue in Vietnam surged 79% year-on-year. It maintained strong momentum with a 36% growth in Q1 exports this year. Sinotruk's heavy-duty trucks and Weichai engines have established industry leadership in Vietnam, earning strong brand recognition.

Man Shengang emphasized that Shandong Heavy Industry Group must seize the momentum and demonstrate responsibility by increasing investment in Vietnam to capitalize on shared strategic opportunities. Expand market growth: Act swiftly to secure first-mover advantages while maintaining steady progress, accelerating the introduction of new businesses and products alongside core strengths. Accelerate local presence: Tailor products, manufacturing, and aftermarket services to Vietnamese market needs, creating unique competitive advantages where we offer what others lack, outperform where others compete, and specialize where others excel. Deepen partnerships: Focus on long-term vision, shared benefits, and major goals with a strategic mindset to foster mutual growth with partners. Strengthen talent strategy: Recruit locally while supporting expatriate staff, ensuring overseas teams remain bold, driven, and committed to achieving all targets.

With enormous potential across Shandong Heavy Industry Group's business sectors in Vietnam, both parties aim to align their visions, expand collaboration areas, broaden cooperation scope, and elevate partnership levels for mutual success. Tran Ba Duong stated that Weichai's world-class full-range powertrain systems, coupled with its responsive application and service network, have significantly enhanced Truong Hai's competitive edge in Vietnam's bus and light truck markets. He affirmed plans to introduce more Shandong Heavy Industry Group products into the Vietnamese market moving forward.
