Weichai Group’s Manufacturing Reopens with Safety-Focused “First Lesson”

2025-02-02

On February 2, the comprehensive resumption of operations across Weichai Group’s manufacturing system marked the first day back at work after the Chinese New Year. To usher in the year with a clear focus, the company convened a post-holiday safety “First Lesson” meeting. This initiative aimed to invigorate all personnel with heightened safety awareness, enforce accountability at every operational level, and ensure employees shift their focus promptly back to work, stepping seamlessly into their roles and responsibilities.

The premise of the meeting was unequivocal: Safety establishes the foundation upon which all other work is built. Under no circumstances can carelessness or complacency be tolerated. Senior leaders, particularly those at the helm of operations, were called upon to strengthen their commitment to safety. By deepening their understanding of its critical importance, managers are tasked with rigorously implementing post-holiday safety measures across every stage, every position, and every individual within the organization. The core directive, “No work and no production unless safety is assured,” must be strictly upheld to ensure a safe resumption of operations. The strategic directive was clear: begin with the safety-focused “First Lesson” and ensure the comprehensive implementation of safety management measures throughout the organization. This all-encompassing approach aims to provide a solid safety foundation to drive the company’s success in achieving a strong first-quarter performance and meeting its annual targets.

Following the meeting, various divisions, including Factory No. 1, Factory No. 2, Factory No. 3, and the Large Bore Material Forming Center, organized their own post-holiday “First Lesson” sessions for employees. These sessions aimed to strengthen the safety foundation for the new year’s production operations. Employees, carrying the warmth of festive greetings, quickly refocused and returned to work with full enthusiasm and high morale, ready to embrace the year’s ambitious production goals

The meeting was attended by company leaders at the director level and above, as well as heads of divisions from the manufacturing, management, and R&D systems. Leaders responsible for safety from all production divisions, along with executives from subsidiaries such as Lovol Heavy Industries, Weichai New Energy Commercial Vehicle, and Yangzhou Diesel Engine, participated both online and offline.
