Recently, after 8 days of tight terminal operations, “Pingtairong Refrigeration 2” tuna ultra-low temperature refrigerated transport ship successfully unloaded some tuna cargo and then successfully left the Pago Pago Port in American Samoa and returned to Zhoushan. This is China's first ocean-going fresh ship that has successfully entered the American Samoa Port after strict inspection by the United States Coast Guard. It is powered by Weichai engines.
“Pingtairong Refrigeration 2” is one of two 6,000 t ocean-going fresh ships built by Zhoushan Pingtairong Ocean Fishery Group in 2016, and the other one is “Pingtairong Refrigeration 1”, which is responsible for the supply to 26 tuna ships of the Group and the transportation of fish cargo, and in the construction process, is involved with very high requirements for the engines and emergency options.
In the early stage of bidding, Weichai engine attracted the interest of Pingtailong Ocean Fishery Group with its excellent dynamic performance, high reliability product quality and perfect after-sales service and stood out from many suppliers, among which, MAN engine 7L 32/40 at the power of 3500 kW was selected as the main engine of the ship, and Weichai 6200 engine and Weichai Deutz 90kW unit were selected as auxiliary engine and emergency unit.
In order to ensure the smooth construction of “Pingtairong Refrigeration 2”, Weichai Power dispatched engineers to the site to provide professional services. In addition, Weichai Power provided timely and considerate service, from main and auxiliary engine installation to various tests, as well as training for black gang, which is highly praised by the customer.
