Weichai's Plant with Capacity of 20,000 Hydrogen Fuel Cell Engines Is Put into Operation

  At 2:00 p.m. on March 31, Chairman Tan Xuguang of Weichai Group announced that Weichai's new plant, with a capacity of 20,000 hydrogen fuel cell engines, was officially put into operation! This is a key step by which Weichai's hydrogen fuel cell engine business is heading to the world-class commercial field, laying a solid industrial foundation for Shandong Province to build a "city based on green power of hydrogen".

  In 2018, Weichai fully started the construction of the fuel cell industrial park, and completed the fuel cell engine and stack production line with a capacity of 20,000 sets. It is currently the largest hydrogen fuel cell engine manufacturing base in the world. At the same time, Weichai has successively built three skid-mounted hydrogenation stations, one 1,000 kg fixed hydrogenation station, seven special bus lines, and put in more than 200 hydrogen fuel cell buses in Shandong, becoming one of the enterprises with the largest hydrogen fuel cell commercial vehicle output for regional demonstration in the world.

  Tan Xuguang said that with the support of Shandong provincial Party committee and Shandong provincial government, Weichai has made all efforts possible to promote the development of its new energy business, to add an another highlight to the old and new growth driver replacement in Shandong.
